Initial Draft Plans from Gerber Leisure - Option 2
March 7, 2014
This option was created assuming the old, old playground on the south side of the property would be removed and replaced with a new, inclusive playground. Gerber used a design that includes ramps, parallel play, shade, and many sensory activities as wells as ground level accessible and inclusive components. It shows the 6 place swings again, as in Option 1, with the addition of a couple of play “pods” along a connecting pathway which extends to the other play structure area where we have extended the rubber padded area to make more of the ground level area accessible out to the gate. The “pod” areas in this plan include a stand alone Sway Fun with access ramp and a ground level Rollertable. This option also includes a quiet spot with benches and a picnic table near the existing garden.
